Various other markings are also found beneath the oral-nasal cup. Unlike most respirators which have manufacturer stampings on the rubber exterior, the markings on the M95 can be found on the inside part of the exhale valve. The exterior is made of halogenated, butyl rubber- capable of delivering fire retardant properties and improved resistance to NBC and CBRN agents as opposed to other common rubbers. It uses a six-point, mesh head harness that is said to be able of deploying in less than 10 seconds. It's designed to be compatible with any NATO 40mm filters and also accepts a speaking diaphragm. The mask's distortion-free eyepieces are made from polyamide and allow the use of prescription lens support. Pairs nicely with the Finnish M61 60mm gas masks we also have for sale. Brand new, made from ABS plastic with a rubber grommet for improved seal. Without the aid of reference, given a Field Protective Mask and exposure to irritant gas in a gas chamber or simulated combat environment, don and clear the gas mask within a time limit of 9 seconds. Allows for the use of modern 40mm gas mask filters with older 60mm style gas masks. The unused filter port is sealed, either with a simple plug or the M95 voice emitter. Protective Mask, to ensure proper seal and fitment per Unit Maintenance Manual for Chemical-Biological Mask M-50. The gas mask can be used with the filter on the left side, the right side, or potentially both with one canister on each side of the mask. If you're REALLY going to tote around on the "Chromium is dangerous" bandwagon, here is a link to a US Military authorized study using M10A1 and C2 canisters that found that the levels you would accumulate would be safe and cause next to no harm unless you were wearing the filter for months at a time. The drinking tube is at the middle of the mask directly above the exhale valve, and is protected by a grey cover when not in use. If you can't tell what the date is on it and you got it with an older mask, then bet on it being old and potentially dangerous. This goes for literally any filter, whether it's "safe" or not. The general rule of thumb is: If the filter is older than you, don't breathe through it for extended periods of time. The report I've heard from a supposed Dutch study is that they do not contain asbestos. If someone has a link to an actual study to prove me wrong, I'll read it. Also, I'm pretty certain there hasn't been any studies that have CONFIRMED EO-19 filters contain asbestos, it's just assumed since Soviet GP5 and EO-16 filters do. Gas Masks only protect against Alpha and Beta. A gas mask that was made probably 40 years ago and has been sitting in someones attic or shelf somewhere and has not been worked on in forever will not work for you. It's also added to nearly every filter out there, so the chart is still incorrect in that sense. I just recently bought a Finnish M-61 gas mask and the 40mm conversion to use with the NATO filters. Chromium is not toxic unless it is actually leaking from the filter, which only happens if the charcoal is leaking or falling out since it's an additive to charcoal. Sheesh, way to get your priorities bass ackwards. A simple "C" for Asbestos, but a full on skull and cross bones for Chromium. The civil defence mask M/39 belonged to Salli Eskola, assistant at the University of Helsinki Department of Chemistry, who became Finland’s first female chemistry professor in 1947. The chart's iconography is also misleading. Gas mask collector Liam Robinson also believes that the filter cartridge of the Finnish civil defence mask M/39 contains asbestos. U.S C2 and CA C3 "contains Chromium or other toxins" but the tan Israeli filters don't? Lol kay.
